Location - Beulah Beach Haven

General Information

Arrival Time
Not before 3pm please. This gives our cleaner enough time to get it ready for you.

The Key
This will be available from Ina Persson at 21 Peninsula Road (just across the road from our house). If she is not at home, the key will be in an enveleope at her front door.

Groceries
What about groceries I hear you ask. Well there are plenty of opportunities along the way - Nelson, Stoke, Richmond and Motueka have plenty of good supermarkets. However there is also a well stocked supermaket in Takaka on the right just as you come into the Takaka village.

There is a small store at Pohara, but sometimes the supplies are a little on the lean side.

During the summer there are also a number of small roadside stalls providing fruit and veges.

We provide various basic grocery items - flour, sugar, etc for emergency use. You are welcome to use these and there is a money jar in the pantry to contribute to the replacement costs.
Water
Our water is provided from the sky! We have tanks under the house to collect it. So when we have dry periods, our water supply can get scarce. Your care with water use is appreciated.

Boats
There is a dingy in the garage and a couple of kayaks under the front deck (the one in front of the large window from the lounge) which you are welcome to use. We do not provide life jackets.

Internet
We have free wireless internet in the house. The details for connecting are in the information booklet that will be left out for you.

Phone
There is a land line phone available in the house and you are welcome to use it for NZ wide calls for no additional charge. Any calls to mobiles or international phones will be an additional charge. The number is 03 525 7607.

Kitchen
The induction hob heats up VERY fast, so beware - it is very easy to burn your wonderfully prepared food.

Damage or Breakages
Please let us know if you damage or break anything so we can quickly get this rectified before the next guests arrive. You will be charged for any costs associated with repairing or replacing.

Artists in the Bay
There is a large group of artists living and working in the Golden Bay. You can view several pieces of their work in the house. We have provided a manual about whose work it is and how to find them. If you would like to visit during off peak periods, it would be wise to phone them first.

Information on the house
There is a good information booklet in the house for various appliances and aspects of the house. It will be left out for you.

Visitors' Book
Please don't forget to write in the visitors book before you leave. My grandmother started this tradition in October 1960. The old books are there for you to peruse. It makes for wonderful reminders years later when you return!

Departure
Please vacate the house by 10am so our cleaner can prepare it for the next guests.
